BATTLE OF QUATRE BRAS 16th June 1815

As start, I decided to reproduce the Battle of Quatre Bras on 16th June 1815 (2 days before Waterloo) considering the lower number of troops than Waterloo (about 20-25.000 each part).
The published photos represent the French 1st Battalion of the 72nd Line Infantry Regiment. 2nd Brigade V Division of 481 men in total.

BATTAGLIA DI QUATRE BRAS 16 Giugno 1815
As it is possible to see, the huge numbers of papersoldiers and the space occupied by them make the wargame 1:1 representing big battles impossible to manage.
At the contrary the rate 1:5 (as in the photos) still has a manageable size, although the visual effect is already impressive. Here it is represented the same batallion as above, done by 97 figures, on a basis of 17 cm wide, split in 6 units (each representing the 6 companies of a battalion), so to easly recreate the attack in columns, typical of the French army of the period.
